Caron is Licensed with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). She has worked in the area of Counselling since 2003 and has experience in research, teaching, supervision and psychotherapy. Having been an informal sandwich generation caregiver to her mother for 20 years, she understands the challenges regarding that role while raising her son as a single parent. She is a strong advocate for Alzheimer's disease awareness and has spoken at several conferences on the topic of caregiving. She was a Youth caseworker for several years in the public sector and then trained human services staff for several years. She has spent her life educating and providing support for those on the same journey as her.
Additional training she has completed includes grief and loss, hospice, life-coaching, group work, compassion fatigue, burnout and virtual therapy. Caron has experience working with individuals, couples and families, counselling a variety of issues including, relationships, divorce, anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, anger management, life-coaching, self esteem, grief and loss and a variety of other life transitional issues.
As counsellor, she enjoys providing authentic, compassionate, challenging and insightful support as she journeys with her clients through a variety of challenges they face. Caron understands that our past has influenced our present, but it need not dictate our future. Our life experience, positive or negative, are building blocks for who we are today and can be effective tools in creating who we aspire to be tomorrow. She believes that with the right tools, empathic support, and personal determination, we can live our lives to the fullest.
In addition to her private practice, Caron is a Senior Learning & Development consultant assisting companies with training & development initiatives.
